Charity Clemmons

Dear Seadog Community,

It is with great excitement that I assume the role of Principal at Beaufort Elementary School. I am filled with enthusiasm to collaborate with the exceptional educators, students, and families who make up the finest educational community in the State of North Carolina. Our esteemed school, located by the sea, boasts a rich history, cherished traditions, and a commitment to academic excellence. I am fully dedicated to upholding the core values that define this remarkable community.

My educational journey began in Anderson, SC, where I developed a deep appreciation for the value of education. From an early age, I demonstrated a steadfast commitment to moral integrity. Later, my family relocated to Charlotte, NC during my freshman year of high school, where I had the opportunity to embrace and value the importance of diversity. Living in Charlotte exposed me to a diverse range of people from around the world, and it fostered within me a genuine appreciation for different cultures and perspectives. Upon graduating from high school, I pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from North Carolina State University, proudly supporting the Wolfpack! Additionally, I earned a Masters in Educational Leadership from Gardner-Webb University.

Having spent over 11 years in Craven County Schools, initially as a 4th and 5th grade Teacher, and later as an Assistant Principal, I am grateful for the experience and growth it provided me. During my time there, I commuted from Carteret to Craven with a clear vision of eventually serving the community I proudly call home. Two years ago, the opportunity to serve as Assistant Principal in Carteret County Schools presented itself, and it has been a tremendously rewarding experience. I wake up each day with a deep sense of fulfillment, knowing that I am making a meaningful investment in the community I hold dear. During my leisure time, I enjoy the moments spent with my husband and two sons, whether it's relaxing at the pool or immersing ourselves in the  ambiance of the beach. Being part of the Carteret County School System fills me with immense pride, and I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to serve the Beaufort community, where we strive for excellence and unlock our limitless potential.
