🌟 School Spotlight: Celebrating Our Team
The Positivity Project (P2): This week, our school will focus on the character strength of Appreciation of Beauty and Excellence. This means noticing and valuing the world's beauty and people's skills and not taking things for granted.

Seadog Students of the Week:
We are proud to highlight the following students for demonstrating leadership, empathy, and school pride:
Jackson Anfinson & Luke Pierce (Teamwork): These two were the ultimate duo during Math WIN time! Their ability to collaborate and solve problems together shows exactly how we "Grow Here."
Vayda Day Jenkins (Stewardship): A huge thank you to Vayda for being so helpful in caring for our school environment. She keeps our "ship" clean and ready for learning.
Zahra Jeffries (Perseverance): Zahra is being recognized for her incredible work ethic. She always tries her very best, no matter the challenge!
Emma Springle (Engagement): Emma has been a model student this week, staying present, focused, and following directions to a T. Way to go, Emma!
Ava Richbourg, Karleigh Newkirk, & Levi Moore (Community Spirit): When the Book Fair was short on volunteers, these three stepped up without hesitation to help Ms. Wilson. That is true leadership!
Coleton Lewis (Encouragement): During the excitement of Field Day, Coleton stood out for his sportsmanship by cheering on his friends and lifting everyone’s spirits.

Celebrating Administrative Assistants Day!

At Beaufort Elementary, we know that every great ship needs a steady anchor and a skilled crew at the helm. Today, we are shining a huge spotlight on two of the very best: Ashley Walters and Sean Westmoreland!

Ashley is our master of the books and the "multitasker-in-chief." Whether she’s balancing the budget, managing school funds, or greeting every visitor with a smile, she keeps our office organized and stocked. We honestly don’t know how she juggles it all with such grace!

Sean is the welcoming face that helps our newest Seadogs join the pack. From enrolling new students and assisting parents to making sure every child feels seen and supported the moment they walk through the door, Sean’s heart for our families (and his love for his cats ) makes BES a better place.

Hello, Beaufort Elementary families — this is Mrs. Wilkie, Assistant Principal, calling to welcome you to another great week at Beaufort Elementary, where we are Sailing Toward Success!

First, we would like to spotlight our amazing students and staff. This week, students are reviewing character strengths through the Positivity Project. Ask your child which strengths they have noticed in themselves or their classmates. These conversations help us build a strong, kind, and empathetic school community.

We are also proud to celebrate our Seadog Students of the Week:

Sydney Tate, for welcoming a new classmate and helping her try new things
Everett Fockler, for showing integrity by picking up trash on the playground
Carter Dayhaw, for being a great listener
Max Cash, for always helping others
Vincent Murray, for encouraging his team to complete a challenge
Gabriel Davis, for stopping to help a younger student who fell in the hallway
Way to go, Seadogs — we are proud of you!

We are excited to announce that one of our favorite traditions is returning — One School, One Book! Our official kick-off will be Tuesday. This program creates a shared reading experience across our entire school community, and we encourage families to set aside time each evening to read together. Be sure to check your child’s folder and our social media pages Tuesday for the big surprise — you won’t want to miss it!

Here are a few important upcoming dates:
March 16: Teacher Workday — No School for Students
March 17: One School, One Book Kick-Off
March 18: Spring Class Pictures
March 19: Third Grade field trip to The Little Mermaid Jr.
March 20: First Grade field trip to the Aquarium
March 20: PE Dance from 3:15 to 5:00 PM for grades 3 through 5

Hello Beaufort Elementary Seadogs!

I would like to provide some direction for the Remote Learning Days on Tuesday, February 3rd, and Wednesday, February 4th.

On the morning of each remote learning day, your student’s teacher will post a Google Form attendance link on their ClassDojo ClassStory and/or Google Classroom. Please ensure you respond to this link each day so that your student is counted as present for our remote learning sessions.

Remote work was assigned and sent home with students this past Friday. Students should complete a small set of assignments each day to stay on track at a pace that keeps the workload manageable. Should you have any questions about assignments or need support from your student’s teacher or another staff member, we will all be available through ClassDojo and email.

Additionally, keep an eye on our SchoolStory in ClassDojo and or Google Classroom each day for optional activities provided by our Specials teachers.

If there are any other impacts to our schedule this week, follow-up information will be provided.

I hope all of our families are continuing to enjoy this snow day and are staying warm. We are here to support you, so please reach out to any of our staff during these next couple of days if you have any needs.

Take care, and we look forward to seeing our BES Seadogs very soon!
